Divine Service for Humanity

What is Divine Service?

Divine Service is free-volunteer service for the Humanity. When meditating in February 2009, Mika received a message from the Universe, advising her to dedicate a few hours a week to offer local and/or global service. The Universe told her that it was the time for her to integrate Divine Service as part of Spiritual Journey. Also, Divine Service is the most effective way of clearing one’s personal Karma as well as one’s ancestors’.

This message coincided with her desire of making a link between her healing practice with her previous humanitarian work at the United Nations. She is now directly being involved in humanitarian work by herself, rather than being a manager of funds at the United Nations. Divine Service is part of Spiritual Practice!

Since then, she has been dedicating to offering 2-3 hours per week for the Humanity. There are so many wonderful non-for-profit organizations around the world.

The following are a list of a few of organizations that Mika has come across or others recommended. Please keep coming back as we will update the information periodically. Also, please send us an email to suggest any organizations that you recommend.

Architecture for Tibet (AFT)
Established by an architect in New York, John Ullman, this organization is currently raising funding to build an academic school for Tibetan orphans in Tawang, a remote village in Northeast India. Mika is assisting this organization and she is currently a contact person for this organization.

Partnership for Student Advancement (PSA)
This organization helps financially underprivileged high school students, particularly minorities, identify and pursue a career path. PSA's life skills training and career development programs include skill and aptitude matching and support services, which smooth the school-to-work transition.

Idealist.org
This website provides various local and global volunteer opportunities. You can do a search with key words to find your ideal volunteer opportunity! Great site!

New York Cares
This organization offers hundreds of projects monthly. You can sign up for a single project, so that it is ideal for beginners to determine what kind project will be suitable for themselves. Just sign up and go to an orientation. It is so easy!

Mother’s Kitchen
This is a soup kitchen inspired by Amma’s love and compassion. It is held on the first Saturday of each month from 1:30-8 p.m. at Ascension Church, 221 West 107th St. (between Broadway and Amsterdam Ave.)
