Heal Your Seasonal Allergies

We all want to enjoy spring, but unfortunately this is a challenge for many of us. The constant sneezing, itchy eyes and runny nose take the fun out of this joyous time because many experience seasonal allergies (hay fever).

Severe allergy sufferers may consider immunotherapy, which may be effective; however it requires a weekly allergy shot up to 4 years. Some may try to improve their diet, which would show some results but not a complete cure. Others may look into herbal supplements and over-the-counter anti-histamine drugs for symptom management.

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, then perhaps you may consider natural solutions such as acupuncture and herbal medicine to heal the root cause of the condition.  Not many people are aware of the wonderful healing power of Eastern Medicine for seasonal allergies.

The most common misconception about allergies is that the symptoms are caused by outside elements like pollen, dust or mold. The reality is that allergies are actually a sign of a weakened immune system in response to the invasion of allergens into the body. Allergens cause the body to release inflammatory chemicals such as histamine. This can cause itchy watery swollen eyes, sneezing, runny nose, congestion, and in some cases even hives, rashes, difficulty in breathing and asthma.

While you need to lower the level of allergens such as pollen, dust or mold around you, you may also want to consider strengthening your immune system in order to stop experiencing the effects of seasonal allergies.

Also, your diet is extremely relevant to developing seasonal allergies. When you consume foods containing chemicals, additives, preservatives and hormones, as well as wheat, sugar and dairies, your body, especially the liver, must take extra steps to detoxify your system to remove toxins out of the body. This adds extra burdens on the liver, weakening the immune system.

In my practice, I offer holistic solutions that treat the root cause of the conditions. I have had great success in boosting the immune system to resolve seasonal allergies. For example, I treated a patient last year with acupuncture and herbal medicine. She confidently stated that her seasonal allergy symptoms have not returned since her treatment. Another example is a patient who came in for a condition unrelated to seasonal allergies found that my treatment alleviated her seasonal allergies. These examples show that treating the root cause can heal your body’s immune system overall with a holistic medicine. I have found that the treatments I offer for seasonal allergies have successfully worked for both adults and children.

There are many scientific studies that show the positive healing result of acupuncture and herbal medicine for seasonal allergy. Below are a few examples for you to review to learn more about the holistic healing effects of acupuncture and herbal medicine.
